Aurora

Aurora Aksnes is born June 15 in 1996 in Stavanger Norway. Professionally known as Aurora and sometimes stylized with uppercase letters as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, released in May 2015 by Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band, for John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are among the artist's most notable covers. The singer gained further attention via a blog post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed her song Runaway. Enjoy her day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories are of discovering an old piano that was hidden away in the attic of her home, and becoming fascinated with the sounds it produced. Jan Oystein Aksnes and May-Britt Aksnes encouraged her to learn music not to get an income or to pursue hobby but in order to grow. So she started writing her own songs. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as a love for Bjork's style. Her mother encouraged her to perform her music publicly, not to become famous but rather make others aware of how significant their voices are and how they could do to improve the world. Her first piano lessons began when she was just six years old, then began composed music by the age of nine. Family members didn't even know about her musical talents until she turned fourteen. Aurora isn't something she imagined as a child. She says she just likes writing songs. For her, music is the best way to express anything.
